Debate Club

NSU Debate Club is one of the most popular and most successful clubs in North South University. Established in 1993, the first club of NSU has since won the highest number of trophies for NSU.

NSU Debate Club has been officially entrusted with the responsibility of putting NSU on the map as a regular participant in the World Universities Debate Tournament. This club regularly participates in numerous International tournaments and over the years we have had remarkable successes. Currently, NSUDC is the top ranking team among the Sub-continental teams, which proves the club's supremacy over this form of art. On a local note, NSUDC has been achieving brilliant results over the last few years, both in Bangla and English Debate. The club has a robust culture of Bengali debate. We have had the honor of reaching to the top of many reputed national tournaments and day by day our efforts to be the best bengali team seems closer to reality.

As far as English debate is concerned, NSUDC is has had unparalleled success. We humbly consider ourselves the best in English debating in Bangladesh. We take part in all the local tournaments and currently we are the defending champions of pretty much all the local tournaments. But, that is not the symbol of our success. Not only do we win trophies, we always top the list of breaking teams in any tournament which is a clear indication to the proficiency and capability of NSUDC debaters.

The club has the following objectives: Participate in the Debate tournaments, inside and outside Bangladesh. Organize seminars, workshops on various agendas in collaboration with various corporate giants. Organize Inter and Intra University Debate and Public Speaking Contests. Maintain liaison with the corporate sector as well as the cultural groups, within and beyond NSU.
