NSU-MONASH University joint Seminar on 'Infrastructure Development and Innovation'


A seminar titled “Infrastructure Development and Innovation” was held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 in the Syndicate Hall of North South University (NSU). This half-day event was jointly organized by the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences (SEPS) of NSU and Monash Infrastructure Institute of Monash University, Australia. The seminar included an opening session and an interactive roundtable discussion session. Professor Atiqul Islam, the honourable Vice Chancellor of NSU, was pleased to deliver the welcome speech and inaugurate the seminar.

Dr. Mohammed Nazmul Islam, Professor and Chair, DCEE, NSU, Dr. Mohammad Rezaul Bari, Associate professor and Chair, ECE, NSU, and Professor Amrik Sohal, Monash Infrastructure Institute, Monash University, Australia, delivered the key note presentations.

Professor M. Rokonuzzaman, the then dean, SEPS, NSU, moderated the roundtable discussion session and delivered the closing remarks. Dr. Md Shoaib Chowdhury, Assoc. Prof., DCEE, NSU, served as the Rapporteur of the event. A total of 41 guests attended the seminar, representing officials from Prime Minister’s Office, Roads and Highways Department (RHD), Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Bangladesh Army, Department of Telecommunication, Snow Mountain Engineering Corporation, MAX group, Grameen-Phone, and Metro Net Bangladesh.
