Reception of a Research Grant on Frontiers in Energy and Energy Efficiency for Bangladesh

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of North South University (NSU) has received a Research Grant on Frontiers in Energy and Energy Efficiency for Bangladesh from MAX Group in Vice Chancellor’s Conference Room, Admin Building, North South University. The lead Researcher is Dr. Nadim RezaKhandaker, Associate Professor, DCEE and other Researchers are Professor Dr. Mohammad Nazmul Islam, Chair, DCEE, Mr. Md. Tousif Rahman, Lecturer, DCEE

MAX SUPPORTS NORTH SOUTH UNIVERSITY FRONTIERS IN ENERGY AND INFRASTRUCTURE RESEARCH INITIATIVE

“MAX” one of the leading infrastructure and Energy Company in Bangladesh is supporting and funding a research initiative called “Frontiers in Energy and Infrastructure” at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at North South University. Max has provided the seed funding necessary to initiate the research group. The project leads are Nadim Reza Khandaker, Ph.D., P.Eng. and Nazmul Islam, Ph.D., from the Department of Civil and Environmental at North South University. In this research initiative a core of young faculty and students will be working in the area of energy and infrastructure research for sustainable development of Bangladesh. This group has successfully published their work in academic setting and some of their innovations have translated to real-life application. The motto of this research group is “Technology Innovation for Bangladesh”.

On November the 4, 2017 in the North South University-MONASH University Australia infrastructure development and innovation seminar in front of national and international experts of the field the Executive Director of MAXX Mr. Samiul Islam eloquently spoke about the vision of “max” as a company to foster sustainable development in Bangladesh and in particular their devotion to foster and support the Frontiers in Energy and Infrastructure research group at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at North South University. Mr. Samiul Islam then handed over the seed money check to the principle investigators of the research group Dr. Nadim Khandaker and Dr. Nazmul Islam and wished them success in their research endeavors. Mr. Samiul Islam also reiterated the and his organization will be following and supporting the research drive in future as a new nexus of collaboration between industry (max group) and academia (North South University).
