Ms. Naveen Abedin is a Lecturer at the School of Business and Economics (SBE) under the Department of Economics. 
Naveen graduates with B.S. in Economics in May 2013 and M.S. in Economics in May 2014 from the University of Texas at Dallas. She graduated with Summa Cum Laude and Major Honors with Distinction. 

Her research areas of interest are econometrics, technological development, development economics, health economics and industrial organization. Currently she teaches all quantitative and statistical courses in the department.

Research Associate September 2014 – December 2014
• Conducted data analysis on food consumption patterns of poor and vulnerable consumers of rural Bangladesh for a Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammernareit (GIZ) GmbH funded project.
• Extensively analyzed the intra-household food distribution practices, and nutrition intake portions of women and children using data from Bangladesh Integrated Household Survey (BIHS) 2011-2012, published by IFPRI. Structured Household Income and Expenditure survey data, published by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics for temporal analysis of household food intake.
• Composed a paper and report on the global literature review of dried fish, intended for publication
• Generated maps for visual representation of global data using ArcGIS toolkit.

International Food Policy and Research Institute (IFPRI) Dhaka, Bangladesh
Research Intern May 2013 – August 2013
• Conducted data and regression analysis on databases from Policy Research and Strategy Support Program (PRSSP) for Food Security and Agricultural Development in Bangladesh;
• Developed strong proficiency in STATA toolkit, and troubleshot STATA crash codes.

United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Dhaka, Bangladesh
Intern, Environmental Economics Research June 2013 – August 2013
• Worked under the supervision of Dr. Aminul Islam, Senior Advisor, UNDP Bangladesh, to compile a study on Bangladesh’s potential to form a green economy;
• Produced a working research paper, “Green Jobs in a Green Economy: In the context of Bangladesh”.
