Curriculum Vitae

Fokruddin Ahmad is working as a Lecturer at the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CEED) of North South University. He has joined at NSU in spring of 2016 after completing his M.Sc(Civil Engineering) from University of North Dakota, USA in December, 2015 with a major in structural engineering. In UND, his research work was primarily focused on the behavior of concrete-filled steel tubular column under cyclic loading. He also worked on stability of tubular steel column and seismic response of wind turbine. As a graduate student, he was awarded graduate research assistantship, teaching assistantship and most prestigious Summer Research Professorship. He received his B.Sc (Civil Engineering) from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) in April, 2012 having major in Structural Engineering and minor in Geotechnical Engineering. For his undergrad thesis, he worked on seismic performance evaluation and retrofitting of RCC structure. Mr. Ahmad has served as a full time faculty in Stamford University Bangladesh from 2012-2013. He also has Engineering in Trainee (E.I.T, USA) certification and has experience in working with Russell & Dowson, USA as a structural engineer. Mr. Ahmad has several publications in International Journal of Applied Science and Technology (IJAST), Transportation Research Board (TRB) and ASCE structural congress.
