Curriculum Vitae

Md. Tousif Rahman joined the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering as a full-time lecturer in spring semester of 2017. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Cardiff University, Wales, UK In 2012, and the following year, he obtained his MSc in Geotechnical Engineering from University of Newcastle, England, UK. At Newcastle University, Mr Rahman’s research work primarily focused on the effect of ground vibration induced by high speed rail. Additionally, he worked on the stability of slopes, geotechnical design, seismic resistant design and ground improvement technique. His research interest includes soil-structure interaction, slope stability, foundation in soft soil and ground vibration etc.

Prior to joining NSU, Mr. Rahman worked as a consulting engineer in Bangladesh, England and Australia in various civil engineering projects. In Bangladesh, he worked as a Geotechnical Engineer for the Dhaka Metro Rail (MRT-line 6) Project. Mr. Rahman is a member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Institute of Civil Engineers, UK (ICE) and Engineers Australia, Australia
