Ishraq Z Khan is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Architecture, and has taught at NSU since 2011. She completed her Bachelor of Architecture from BRAC University and her Masters in History, Theory & Criticism of Architecture from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, where she briefly taught undergraduate History and Theory Studies. She has worked with the firm of TKNRK & Associates in Dhaka. She has presented her research on Modern Architecture in Bangladesh and the subcontinent at home and abroad, at institutions including RWTH Aachen, the University of Lincoln and the University of Kent. In 2015, she won the prestigious SAH (Society of Architectural Historians, USA) and Getty Foundation grant to attend the annual SAH conference in Chicago. She is interested in the intersection of cultural politics and architecture and the recording and interpreting of oral histories of South Asian Architecture.
