Raisa Bashar is a Masters of Science degree holder in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from one of the oldest and very renowned Durham University of Durham, United Kingdom. She completed her Masters degree in August of 2015 with the Best Performer Award in her class. She was also chosen as the Student Representative of the MS in Economics programs at her postgraduate university and is a recipient of the prestigious Commonwealth Shared Scholarship. After a brief employment at ROBI Axiata Ltd., the classic telecommunications company of BD as a Pricing Specialist, she joined as Lecturer at the Environmental Science and Management dept. of North South University in April of 2016.

She is an alumnus of the undergraduate program of the Economics dept. of NSU and her second major was in Environmental Science. She passed out in May of 2014 with a title of Summa cum Laude and several other honors like Financial Aid recipient, President and ex-Treasurer of the academic club of NSU, Young Economists' Forum (YEF), a Teaching Assistantship, etc.

She aims to go for a PhD in Environmental Economics and Policy within a couple of years. Her long-term aim in life is to teach the importance of managing the economy and environment together and sustainably through lectures and researches. She is a passionate creative writer of short stories and poems and has had several writings published related to Economics and the Environment as well.
