Dr. Sharif Uddin ahmed is an eminent Professor and the Chairman of the Department History and Philosophy of North South University, Bangladesh. Professor Sharif joined at NSU in January 2015. He has taught previously in the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He specialises in urban and cultural history of South Asia and did an extensive work on the intitutional history of Bangladesh. He is involved in many top class research institutes of Bangladesh and abroad. His other interest is the development of archival studies and institutions in Bangladesh. He is currently the president of the Bangladesh Archives and Records Management Society (BARMS).
