Ishtiaque Ahmed is a lecturer at the Department of Law . He joined as a lecturer, full time position at the School of Business of North South University in September 2011. Since January 2015 he has been serving as a lecturer at the Department of Law of the University. He achieved his Master of Law degree in the specialization "Maritime Law" from the University of London in association with Queen Mary Westfield College (QMUL) and the University College London (UCL) , UK .Prior to that he completed Bachelor of Law (Hons) from the same University. Mr. Ahmed successfully completed a post Graduate diploma in "Legal & Professional Skill" from the City University London and qualified as a Barrister of Lincoln's Inn, London in 2005. He also completed a post Graduate Diploma in Corporate & Commercial law and a Post Graduate Certificate in International Business Law from the University of London, UK . Mr. Ahmed is a Member of the Charted Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) , London UK, one of the most prestigious chartered professional bodies  for training , certification & practice of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in the world based in UK. 

Ishtiaque Ahmed has diverse qualifications and professional experience. He served as a Certified Merchant Marine Engineer officer on board ocean going merchant vessel from January 1996 to December 1999 in different shipping companies based in UK, Singapore and Japan. He holds  COC (Certificate of Competency) Class -3 (Motor Vessel) issued by the Department of Shipping, Government of Bangladesh. He is an Ex cadet of Bangladesh Marine Academy Chittagong. He obtained Bachelor of Science (Marine Engineering) degree in 1995 from the Marine Academy Chittagong, a branch of the World Maritime University (WMU), Malmo, Sweden. He successfully completed four years course (Phase I, Phase II and Phase III) at the Marine Academy, Chittagong in line with Merchant Navy Training Board , UK as approved by the Ministry of Shipping , Government of Bangladesh and International Maritime Organization (IMO) a specialized regulatory agency of the United Nation.

Presently Mr Ahmed is on leave for higher study.

Mr Ahmed, Prior to the Joining at North South University as faculty taught different educational institutions both at home and abroad as lecturer in Law . He has got 9 years of teaching experience at University level. 
 




Mr Ahmed served in the past as a "Merchant Navy Officer" on board Ocean Going Merchant Vessel carrying fogeign flags for 3 years as 3rd  and 4th Engineer . He served for M/S Mitsui OSK Line , Japan , Acomarit (UK) Ltd and M/S Sea Quest Shipping Co. Ltd , Singapore as Certified Watch Keeping Officer on board Ocean going vessel. Mr Ahmed has successfully completed following internationally accredited courses
