In the name of the most gracious and the most merciful
The Department of Architecture Mourns the passing of Mr. Mizanor Rahman Khan,
distinguished architect and teacher of architecture who died December 26th, 2014.
Architect Mizan joined our Architecture program in 2010 as a guest faculty in the design studios.He was a direct student of the founder teacher of Architecture Program at BUET, Mr. Richard E Vrooman,and legendary architect Louis I. Kahn, designer of the Shangshad Bhaban at Sher-E-Bangla nagar.
His firm Prostabana has designed a number of notable projects in Dhaka including the Gulshan Azad Mosque and the Dhaka Stadium, Swimming Pool and Sports Complex, amongst many others.
He served the architecture program with passion and distinction.
He was a respected and admired member of our faculty and a teacher beloved by his students.We mourn the loss of a larger than life architect & educator, and honor all that he contributed to us during the years he served here.
He was a great source of inspiration to us and to our students.
His namaz-e-zanaza will be offered at the Gulshan 2, Azad Mosque designed by him, today 26th December 2014 after the Magrib prayers
