BUS 565 - Advanced Research Methods

Course Detail: An understanding of business research methods from a theoretical as well as practical perspective is the primary objective of the course. Topics include theory and theory building, types of research (exploratory, descriptive and causal), hypothesis testing, primary and secondary research methods, questionnaire design, sampling and sample design and data analysis and interpretation. Correlation, regression and multivariate statistical techniques (like factor analysis, multidimensional scaling, cluster analysis, discriminant analysis) are used to discuss for data analysis and determining relationship. SAS and/or SPSS computer package is extensively used to understand and apply the concepts discussed in the course. Students are required to apply concepts of research methodology and data analysis by conducting a research project in business during the semester.
