This course is an introduction to nutrition, including nutritive value of foods, factors influencing body food requirements, their importance in promoting health and preventing disease and the body processes and their relation to total nutrition. Also, to develop a basic understanding of the scientific principles regulating nutrients and their digestion, absorption, transport, metabolism, storage, and excretion.
