The course will consider the structure and function of plant cell organelles. Included are discussions on photosynthesis, nitrogen fixation, role of plant hormones. The synthesis of alkaloids and general secondary compound biosynthesis will be discussed. Plant transformation techniques and examples of model transformation system will be introduced.
