Course Detail: Microbial physiology: Effect of temperature, heat, osmotic pressure and pH on the growth of vegetative cells and spores of bacteria, Sugar fermentation test, Urease test, Triple Sugar Iron Test, IMVIC test, Catalase activity, Casein hydrolysis.Molecular Biology of Gene: Isolation of plasmid and chromosomal DNA, Detection of DNA by agarose gel electrophoresis. Microbial Taxonomy and Diversity: Identification of Bacteria up to generic level by Bergey’s manual of Systematic Bacteriology (5-genera).
