Educated in Bangladesh, United Kingdom, United States and Switzerland, Dr. Siddiqi has more than 40 years of experience as Professor, Researcher, International Consultant and business executive. Currently, he is Vice-chancellor (CEO) of North South University. Before joining NSU in 1993 Dr. Siddiqi served the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka University, for about 20 years in various capacities including Professor and its Director. Besides, he taught for more than eight years at two US Universities, namely, Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA and Minnesota State University, Mankato, Minnesota, USA, as Professor of International Business and Management. He was founder Dean of School of Business and Pro-Vice Chancellor of NSU. Professor Siddiqi has been working for NSU since 1993 and leading the University as its Chief Executive Officer/Vice Chancellor for about 12 years.

His latest book is "The Readymade Garment Industry of Bangladesh" published by University Press Ltd. Dhaka, in 2004.

His wife, Professor Najma Siddiqi, is former Chairman of the Department of Philosophy, Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka. She also taught in the US universities. His daughter Dr. Dina Siddiqi taught at University of Pennsylvania, (Upenn) Philadelphia, PA, USA, and currently is Visiting Scholar at New York University, NY,USA. His son Dr. Asif Siddiqi, a globally recognized historian in Space Technology and consultant to NASA, USA is Associate Professor at Fordham University, New York, USA. He was a Research Scholar for 2008-09 academic year at the Space Technology and Society Program of Massachusetts Institute of echnology(MIT), USA. |
