All authors submitting manuscripts to the North South Business Review (NSBR) are expected to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical research practices. The following responsibilities must be carefully observed by all contributors:
Originality and Authorship
Authors must ensure that their submission is an original work and has not been published previously. The manuscript should be the sole work of the author(s) named, and all contributors must meet the criteria for authorship.
Proper Citation and Acknowledgment
If the manuscript incorporates materials (data, figures, text, or ideas) from other published sources, these must be clearly cited and appropriately referenced. Failure to do so may result in the rejection of the submission due to plagiarism.
Plagiarism and Redundant Submission
Any attempt at plagiarism—including self-plagiarism—will be considered unethical and will lead to immediate rejection of the manuscript. The journal does not accept articles that have been previously published, or are under review elsewhere, even with minor modifications in title or text.
Simultaneous Submission
Submitting the same manuscript or the same research findings to multiple journals at the same time is strictly prohibited unless explicitly permitted by all parties involved. Authors must disclose any such dual submission during the review process.
Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain copyright of their work but grant NSBR the right of first publication. This means the journal has the exclusive right to publish the manuscript first, after which authors may reuse their work with proper acknowledgment.
Co-Author Agreement
All co-authors must have contributed meaningfully to the work and must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission. A signed copyright agreement form from all authors must accompany the submission to confirm consent and accountability.
Generative AI (GenAI) Use Policy
In line with global best practices, this journal maintains a strict policy on the use of Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude). Authors must disclose any use of GenAI tools in manuscript preparation. These tools may only be used for grammar and language refinement. GenAI must not be used to generate data, conduct analyses, interpret results, or replace authorial contributions.
GenAI tools cannot be credited as authors. All authors remain fully accountable for the integrity, originality, and accuracy of the submitted work. Failure to disclose GenAI use may lead to desk rejection or retraction.
This journal follows the COPE position on AI use in scholarly publishing. For details, see: https://publicationethics.org/guidance/cope-position/authorship-and-ai-tools
