Tahmina yasmin studied Pharmacy at the Jahangirnagar University, where she obtained her first degree, B. Pharm. and then completed MS from University of North Dakota, USA. After finishing her first degree, she became a lecturer at the University of Development Alternative (July 2004-March 2005) and then at Stamford University (March 2005-January 2010). In these institutions she taught Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Physical Pharmacy amongst other subjects. Her graduate research was on the expression of SPARC in Arsenite- and Cadmium- transformed human urothelial cells (UROtsa), tumor heterotransplants and in bladder cancer. She also worked on different plant extracts to evaluate different pharmacological effects (Analgesic, Anti-inflammatory, and Antimicrobial, Cytotoxic etc)

Furthermore, Tahmina yasmin worked as a teaching assistant (TA) and research assistant (RA) at University of North Dakota when she was doing masters there. She is a registered Pharmacist under Bangladesh Pharmacy council. She is a member of the Society of Toxicology (SOT) USA. She attended different conference(North Dakota Academy of Science meeting , Frank low research day poster presentation etc) and workshop at home and abroad. she has published a paper on her work in an international journal in the year 2010 and a number of papers are in pipeline for submission in the international journals. She was appointed as Lecturer at North south University in February, 2010 and then prompted to Senior lecturer in March 2015.
