Research Interest

My research fields include the genetic basis of communicable and non-communicable diseases, computational genomics for human Therapeutics, and sustainable technology in clinical diagnostic services to measure and monitor health status against prevalent infectious diseases, vector-borne diseases as well as non-communicable diseases. Previously my research focus was to develop qualitative and quantitative aspects of traits of plant cultivars to support food biotechnology.

My research sheds light on i) genomic evolution of the pathogen related to specific infectious diseases, identification of predominant variants, and host-pathogen interaction thus uncovering novel targets for drug development. ii) genetic etiology of non-communicable diseases such as hypothyroidism, and neurological disorders which further help us to categorize the risk of the disease and to develop a genetic screening protocol as well as drug repurposing iii) the production of transgenic plants such as abiotic stress tolerance eggplants, decaffeinated green tea etc. to enhance the resilience to food security
