Dr. Sukanto Roy achieved a Ph.D. in Composition & TESOL from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, PA, USA in May 2019 and an M.A. in TESL (Teaching English as Second Language) from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, USA in August 2015. His dissertation “Exploring Multilingual Students’ Preference between Audio and Written Feedback and the Impact of Feedback Format on Their Revision Process” was chosen to receive Outstanding Research Award at IUP. He was also awarded CCCC Scholars for the Dream Travel Award in 2019. He worked as a Temporary Faculty in the Department of English at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he was awarded prestigious Exemplary Teaching of Literacy and Language Award as a recognition of his teaching excellence and amicable personality. Dr. Roy has extensive teaching experiences home and abroad. After completing MA in ELT from the University of Dhaka in 2008, he joined Jagannath University as an Adjunct Faculty. In 2009, he joined Notre Dame College as a Lecturer in English. While teaching at Notre Dame College, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and went to the USA to receive a five-month teachers’ training in January 2011 as an ILEP (International Leaders in Education Program) Fellow. Dr. Roy has presented in many international conferences including TESOL Convention, American Association for Applied Linguistics (AAAL) and Conference for College Composition and Communication (CCCC). Dr. Roy has several scholarly publications in some standard peer-reviewed journals. He has some publications in the pipeline.

2019 Graduate Student Outstanding Research Award. This award is given to graduate students whose research has practical pedagogical implications.
2019 Scholars for the Dream Travel Award. This award celebrates the scholarly contribution of presenters at CCCC (Conference on College Composition & Communication). The purpose of the Award, consisting of $1,000 and a one-year complimentary membership in NCTE/CCCC, is to provide funding to travel to the conference and share the scholarly work with the scholars of CCCC.
2019 Travel Funding of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I was awarded $1000 to present at AAAL, TESOL, and CCCC.
2018 Exemplary Teaching of Literacy and Language Award, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, (2017 Composition & TESOL Awards). Only two first-year English instructors are awarded per year at IUP. I was honored to receive this award in 2018.
2017 Patrick M. Hartwell Memorial Scholarship for Composition Studies. The Patrick M. Hartwell Memorial Scholarship for Composition Studies provides scholarship support to graduate students enrolled at IUP who are majoring in Composition Studies in the TESOL/Composition Program within the Department of English for outstanding academic achievement. I was honored to receive this award in 2017.
