Md. Saidur Rahman is a Lecturer at Department of Political Science and Sociology, North South University. He teaches courses on Political Science, Governance and Public Administration to undergraduate students. He is also involved in research on Social Movement, Climate Change Governance, Civil Society, Urban Poverty and Disaster Management.

He started his career as a researcher at BRAC University where he spent two and half years in the project "Management. Land Acquisition, Resettlement and Rehabilitation (MLARR)". He continued to work as a researcher in different research organizations before joining North South University.

Saidur completed his Master of Public Affairs (MPA) with special focus on Policy Analysis and International Development from Indiana University Bloomington, USA under the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship. Prior to the MPA program, he completed his Master of Development Studies (MDS) from BRAC University securing higher distinction for which he was awarded Vice Chancellor Gold Medal in 2012. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Environment from University of Dhaka. He also spent one semester at University of Ottawa, Canada as an exchange student under the Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship.

His research interests include Policy Analysis; International Development; Non-profit Management; Climate Change; Disaster Management; Monitoring and Evaluation; Education; Migration.

MLARR (Management of Land Acquisition, Resettlement and Rehabilitation) Manual is a 10 module compilation funded by the UKAid, AusAid and the World Bank and managed by BRAC Development Institute, to facilitate faculties and trainers around the world to deliver postgraduate level courses.
