About

Taskin Shakib is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance at North South University, where he also serves as the Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor. He is an academic, entrepreneur, and finance professional with over 10 years of national and international experience in consulting, research, corporate finance, and startups. Through these endeavors, he has developed a global perspective and an analytical framework spanning financial management and financial intelligence, which he applies to strategic and analytical business challenges aimed at driving sustainable growth.

As an Investment Analyst at the Sustainable Investment Cell of Bangladesh Bank, he was actively involved in preparing financial feasibility studies and investment analyses for public-private partnership (PPP) infrastructure projects, part of a portfolio worth approximately $600 million, primarily funded by the World Bank. He also spearheaded the development of several sustainable investment projects targeting untapped agricultural industries in developing economies, with a portfolio valued at approximately $6 million. His work as a Research Associate on multiple USAID- and World Bank-linked projects on diaspora engagement and trade competitiveness involved analyzing economic, psychographic, and financial data to quantify diaspora engagement and its potential for investment. In his subsequent role as a Data Associate, he applied big data analysis to manage risk, improve performance, and identify business opportunities.

Taskin is also the co-founder of Sentinel Technologies, a software company building enterprise digital solutions, which was recognized as the Most Innovative Company in 2023 by A2i and ICT ministry, Bangladesh. Sentinel's flagship brand, Ekhon Charge, operates the largest EV charging network in Bangladesh. His entrepreneurial portfolio also includes La Maison Richard, a specialty café brand operating under Comptoirs Richard, France's largest coffee roaster, with outlets in Gulshan, Tejgaon, and Khulna.
