About

Zarin Tasnim is an academic and media strategist specialising in the nexus of media, gender, and cultural studies. As a Lecturer in the Department of Media, Communication and Journalism (MCJ) at North South University, she investigates how narratives shape identity, power, and perception through research, editorial practice, and public advocacy. With a background spanning the UK and Bangladesh, Zarin brings a global outlook to the study of media bias, popular culture, and the archiving of historical narratives. She holds an MA in International Journalism from City St George's, University of London, and a BA majoring in Media and Cultural Studies from Brac University. In addition to her academic pursuits, Zarin has extensive experience in content-based writing, advertising, and media production, both locally and internationally. Her diverse expertise enables her to critically analyse and engage with media and communication landscapes while contributing to scholarly discourse and industry practice.
